Surrealism Boulevard

An interactive space where visitors hand-color illustrations inspired by Dalí’s designs, scan them and watch their own creations come to life on the big screen. The experience turns into a surrealist journey that merges an urban boulevard with the landscapes of Empordà. The angels on the façade of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres parade along this journey in outfits inspired by Dalí’s extraordinary relationship with the world of fashion. Among these designs are the artist’s collaborations with Christian Dior and the creations he made for Paco Rabanne’s Cybernetic Ballet.

Dalí Cybernetics takes you on a cybernetic journey along a surrealist runway that brings together some of the most striking works Salvador Dalí designed as his visions of the fashion of the future. Dalí collaborated with leading haute couture designers of his time, such as Christian Dior, Josep Mallerich, Paco Rabanne and André Courrèges, and created some of the designs together with them.

Dalí imagined the people of the future as androgynous and anthropomorphic robots, like these golden mannequins designed after the original examples exhibited at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Spain.

Motion-responsive projections form a constantly shifting image field across the interactive slide surface, making the visitor’s body part of the flow.
